English <> French Translator

BG Communications, a multilingual translation and localization firm established over 25 years ago, is currently looking for freelance translators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation

  • At least two (2) years of translation experience in a supervised environment

  • Proficiency with translation tools (Trados, MemoQ, or other CAT tool)

  • Conscientiousness

  • Ability to make decisions regarding linguistic issues

  • High degree of efficiency, autonomy, and rigour

  • Team spirit and good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage tight deadlines

  • Approximate yield of 10,000 translated words per week

  • Perfect command of French and excellent understanding of English

  • Strong writing and research skills

  • Extremely high attention to detail

  • Revision experience, an asset

  • Reliability Status (Public Works and Government Services Canada), an asset

  • Ideally, certification by a recognized language professional order or plans to obtain such certification
