Senior French Reviser (freelance)

BG Communications, a multilingual translation and localization firm established over 25 years ago, is currently looking to fill a permanent full-time freelance Reviser position (37.5 hours per week).

 

Requirements

 

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in translation and at least five (5) years of relevant experience in revision, from English to French

  • Ability to revise at least 800 words per hour

  • Proficiency in translation tools (Trados, MemoQ, or other CAT tool)

  • Conscientiousness

  • Ability to make decisions regarding linguistic issues

  • High degree of efficiency, autonomy, and rigour

  • Team spirit and dynamic personality

  • Ability to manage tight deadlines

  • Approximate output of 30,000 revised words per week

  • Perfect command of French and excellent understanding of English

  • Strong writing and research skills

  • Reliability Status (Public Works and Government Services Canada), an asset

  • Ideally, certification by a recognized language professional order or plans to obtain such certification
