Maryse Benhoff, BG Communications President, receives Lifelong Achievement Award at CLIA conference

Montréal, June 14, 2023– BG Communications proudly announces that Maryse Benhoff, the esteemed President of the company, has been honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the CLIA Annual Conference. The event took place on May 24-25, 2023, in Montréal, gathering industry leaders to recognize outstanding contributions to the language industry.





The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions throughout their career. Maryse Benhoff's remarkable achievements as the leader of ISO Canadian Mirror Committee over the past nine (9) years and expert for the past twenty (20) for and on behalf of Canada established her as a trailblazer in the field of language industry standardization.


Maryse Benhoff's journey in standardization began in 2003 as the official representative to the CEN development of the 15038 standard, the first standard in the world for the process of translation. After the publication of this standard in 2006, she was then invited to help Canada develop its own standard the CGSB 131.10 standard in translation.


Joining the Canadian Mirror Committee to ISO TC 37 in 2009, her dedication and expertise led her to assume the position of Chair in 2014, concurrently holding the role of International Committee Manager for ISO TC37/SC2. These responsibilities were previously held by the federal government of Canada from 1975 to 2014, highlighting the significance of Maryse's appointment.


In January 2018, Maryse's exceptional contributions were further recognized when she was appointed as the International Chair of ISO's TC37/SC5, serving a prestigious six-year mandate from 2018 to 2023. This appointment solidified her global impact on language industry standardization and demonstrated her commitment to driving excellence and innovation.
